I purchased the Recons 50P in early December 2016 after going through a pair of turtle beaches I initially purchased with my Playstation 4. After researching through several websites I picked these up. After a couple of months of using the Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50P I felt like I had enough to write my review on this product.

 

I will say right away, this is a mid tier headset, some features are here but if you want any extra bells and whistles then you might want to invest in a higher grade of headset. At the time of my initial purchase the headset was going for $35.00 on Amazon so it was a no-brainier. The Recon 50P features a large 40mm over-ear speakers that are very comfortable, plus convenient in-line controls that allow you to quickly and easily adjust Master Volume and a switch to Mic Mute. The Recon 50P also includes an adjustable mic, which can be removed when watching movies and listening to music. The headset can pretty much work with any type of device that works with a 3.5 mm jack. There are two wires, with a wire going into the underside of the ear cup. It feels a little messy but nothing to crazy. Surround sound was pretty impressive given the headset’s lack of 7.1 Surround Sound. It was enough to immerse the player in the action, you could hear enemies chasing from behind. As for party chat, although there is no way to directly control the mix between game and party on the mic, once you toggled it on your console, it was all good

 

The headset produces very clear sounds and I am always impressed with how efficient it sounds  especially when the bass kicks in. The colors even fit nicely with the Playstation 4. The only drawback I can see with these headsets is the piece that goes on your head is plastic and feels a bit flimsy but the adjustable padding on the under side more than makes up for it. For the price, you definitely get what you pay for so I HIGHLY Recommend the Turtle Beach Ear Force Recon 50P for any gamer looking to get a good headset for a good price.
